Spring is beginning to try and break through here in the UK. Still windy and chilly but at least there is some light in the evening now and some days the sky is blue and there’s a strange yellow ball of fire visible in the sky. It’s about this time of year I start to get twitchy to get out and shoot something a little more conceptual and artistic.
After using the infinity cove itself as a light source I was keen to work with a harder more directional light for the second half of the session with Helena. I’d seen some footage of one of my favourite contemporary photographers, Damien Lovegrove, using large boards to block the light leaving shafts of illumination pouring onto the subject. With this in mind and with the help of a couple of large polyboards and a few lightstands to hold them in place we set about shooting the following images.
